About the SEDG Cell

The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell is established to promote equal opportunities, inclusion, and academic success for students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The Cell works in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to ensure that every student receives a fair and supportive learning environment.

Objectives
  • Promote equal access to quality education for all students.
  • Support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in their academic journey.
  • Ensure an inclusive, safe, and discrimination-free campus.
  • Create awareness about scholarships, financial assistance, and government welfare schemes.
  • Encourage participation in academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities.

Functions
  • Provide guidance and counselling to students facing socio-economic challenges.
  • Facilitate access to scholarships and financial aid.
  • Organize awareness programs, workshops, and mentoring sessions.
  • Address issues related to discrimination or exclusion.
  • Coordinate with college authorities for the effective implementation of student welfare initiatives.
